Jessica Simpson Fights Back on Fashion Star

Oh, it's on now! "Fashion Star" mentor Jessica Simpson gets into it with a contestant over the always controversial topic: the placement of zippers on a jacket.
In an upcoming episode of NBC's new fashion reality series (which debuts March 13), designer Nicholas Bowes, who hails from Australia, presents his biker jacket for the mentors' inspection. John Varvatos says it's a bit on the "meh" side, which Nicholas seems to acknowledge. However, once Simpson starts in on the zippers, Nicholas just can't stay quiet.

Ashley Olsen

While her little sister Elizabeth Olsen is currently Hollywood's "It" girl, one half of the Olsen twins, Ashley, has announced that she no longer has plans to act.
We worked non-stop until we were 18," the fashion mogul said in an interview with Elle U.K. "Then we decided to take a break and go to school — and that was when we decided to question whether we would carry on in entertainment. It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things. It doesn't mean I'm not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever do get back in, it's not going to be as an actress. It just felt right to move away."

Big East Tournament 2012

"NEW YORK"Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun said he didn't think any team would ever do what his did last year – win five games in five days to earn a conference tournament title.
The Huskies had plenty of people thinking they could be repeating history just one season later and it took another memorable Big East tournament matchup with Syracuse to end their 13-game postseason winning streak.

Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson has revealed she and fiance Eric Johnson are expecting a baby girl.
She," Simpson, who will serve as a celebrity mentor for the fashion designers on NBC's upcoming Fashion Star reality competition, told ELLE magazine of her baby when she posed nude for the cover of its April 2012 issue.
Simpson and the former NFL player have reportedly picked out a name for their baby already but are waiting to make the announcement.

New Ipad Release

Apple’s product launches may be the most obsessively-covered media events on the planet — presidential press conferences possibly excepted = but that doesn’t mean that people understand them.
Actually, as I mulled over today’s new iPad event and its implications, I’m struck by how little of the conventional wisdom about these rollouts feels like wisdom. Much of it is crude, out of date or just plain wrong. Including some of my own assumptions.

Space Weather

A space weather storm that was forecast to be the strongest in five years has fizzled out and ended up causing no impact to power grids or modern navigation systems, US experts say.
A series of eruptions on the Sun this week sent radiation and solar plasma hurtling toward Earth at high speeds but in the end, the geomagnetic storm registered the lowest level, G1, on a five-step scale.
