Afghan Girl (CNN) – image, an anonymous Afghan girl with green eyes is one of the most famous in the world, and put a human face on a brutal conflict.
Jumped American documentary photographer Steve McCurry to fame when his image appeared on the cover of National Geographic magazine in 1985.
Year occurred at a later time with the agency’s prestigious Magnum and went on to win many awards for his work.
Currently on the screen as part of a retrospective of his work at the Museum and Art Gallery in Birmingham, has come, “the Afghan Girl,” to determine his long and varied.
