Intel Nvidia
The move brings an end to a legal dispute that began in 2009.
Intel had called Nvidia, a graphics chip maker, on the right to make an Intel chip design. Nvidia then counter-sued.
Intel now has the right to use Nvidia technology at a time when graphics processing is increasingly important.
“This agreement will end the legal dispute between the companies,” said Doug Melamed, Intel senior vice president and counsel. “It also allows companies to focus on innovation and developing new products.”
Intel is the dominant player in the market micro-processors to deliver 80% of personal computers in the world.
